“Public relations offices and marketing firms have been hiring social media managers for a while now, which means it’s finally time for mainstream media outlets to label it a trend.
And that’s exactly what The Los Angeles Times does in its recent feature, “Employers are liking—and hiring—social media workers.”
Perhaps most revealing in the article is a quote from Kathy O’Reilly, director of social media relations for Monster, who says that social media jobs on the site have increased 75 percent over the last year. ”
